Well, this is my first post. Because this blog isn't exactly dedicated to one specific interest, you will notice I'm going to be putting a random array of things up. I'll start with a pretty unknown artist, Joe Purdy.
Up until errr... 6 months ago?, I had no idea who this guy was. I was watching TV and saw that Dawn Commercial, yeah the one that shows the poor little animals being affected by oil spills. And that's when I first heard his music. After doing a little "Yahoo! Answers" research, I found out that the song playing during that commercial was called Wash Away by Joe Purdy. His music was also featured in a Kia Commercial. Several hours of searching and downloading later, I discovered one of music's raw talents. This guy is good, real good. He's mainly folk, playing slower acoustic songs, and sometimes throwing in harmonica. But what's special about him is his distinct voice. So different.
Please, take the time to listen to his stuff. Like I said before, because he plays slower, mellower stuff, he may not "wow" you right away, but he'll grow on you - guaranteed. Some notables: Wash Away (reprise), Can't Get it Right Today, Whiskey and Fish, Miss You, and finally, Falling Down.
The hell with it, just download his whole discography, you'll thank me later ;)
